Mike Radke of Braver Angels Traverse City is looking to fill 2 positions.
Braver Angels Moderators needed: 2 Moderators conduct each workshop as a team bringing together local groups of conservatives and liberals for discussions so that they can get to know each other, learn each other’s stories and start looking for common ground on issues of importance to this community. Anyone with experience conducting meetings, teaching or facilitating groups working toward a common goal would be qualified for training as a moderator.
Braver Angels Organizers needed: Organizers provide the necessary support to make workshops happen. Finding meeting space, arranging refreshments, registering participants – orchestrating the details of a workshop – these are the responsibilities of the two organizer partners for each workshop. Basic computer skills are necessary and familiarity with community resources is helpful.
Check out the position descriptions by visiting Braver Angels and become a member. We provide excellent initial training and all the resources you will need to be successful.
Ongoing coaching is provided by peer moderators and organizers from across Michigan and the nation every month. If you want to make an important contribution to our nation, state and local community, one that will bring people from polarized camps together to address local issues by looking for common ground, Braver Angels is a great place to volunteer.

The BOC Beacon is a citizen journalism project reporting primarily on the Grand Traverse Board of Commissioners. Recently, they have expanded to include reporting on other county boards. They need volunteers to read and analyze data primarily from public records and FOIA requests; a great sleuthing opportunity for virtual researchers.
The BOC Beacon also welcomes reporting on other County Commissions. Contact Editor Harold Lassers.
