Have a fun afternoon in the park and learn about the great folks that are working to make Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties better places to live! It's a festival of good will!
You can register to vote, apply for an absentee ballot, learn about the local groups that are working in the fields of mental health, homelessness, clean water, climate action, election security, community development and a whole lot more!

A CELEBRATION OF DEMOCRACY is presented by Traverse Indivisible, Leelanau Indivisible, Addiction Treatment Services, and the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, in cooperation with dozens of local nonprofit groups.
This is a nonpartisan event that is devoted to educating the public about our electoral system, the importance of supporting democracy, and to offering great opportunities to learn about the nonprofits that work every day to make our community better! There will be no campaigning allowed. Speakers, including elected officials, will talk about the above topics.

Traverse Indivisible is focused on Getting Out the Vote in 2024. Here’s what we are doing to maximize GOTV 2024, and what you can do yourself to help in the effort!
Why vote in 2024? This video, produced by our friends at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse, features two voters, one will be 18 in November and the other is 101, speaking about why it’s important for citizens of all ages to vote this year.
A Celebration of Democracy! Traverse Indivisible and Leelanau Indivisible are collaborating with a large range of community nonprofit organizations to stage A Celebration of Democracy at F&M Park in Traverse City on Saturday September 7. ACoD will be a fun affair for adults and kids of all ages!
● Tabling by local groups to directly engage with and educate the public about your group’s work
● Voter education and information, such as how our elections are made secure, the options available for early voting and voting by mail, early voter registration for students, and more. The public will actually be able to register to vote at the event.
● Performances by local musicians
● Addresses by elected officials about the importance of voting
● Games and entertainment for kids, including a scavenger hunt!
