As part of the May Day General Strike, we're gathering for a community Mutual Aid Picnic at Rotary Square on May 1 from 1-3pm. Weather permitting only.
What is it?
An informal community gathering where we spend the day together, instead of working, shopping, or going to school, and practice supporting each other.
Mutual Aid
Bring something to give to the community. There is no requirement, and this could be anything from extra food or donatable clothing, to educational materials and petitions.
The Traverse Indivisible blanket will be collecting non-perishable food donations for the Grace Episcopal Food Pantry, and new item donations for Jubilee House, an outreach ministry of Grace Episcopal Church.
Who's invited?
Everyone. Families, individuals, businesses, organizations, all are welcome.
What to bring:
* Beach chairs or a blanket
* Something to share (food, clothes to donate, petitions, educational materials, etc.)
* No money changes hands, just free sharing
* No tables
* No signs in ground, but handheld signs are fine
* No electronic audio
This is not a traditional protest. It's an intentional gathering to build community, practice mutual aid, and show our collective power.
